Rock cod fishing remains very good. There are a lot of cod on Boomer’s Reef – a lot of small lings. Anchovies and mackerel are in 30 to 50 feet of water. (831) 462-2208

White sea bass weighing 20 to 40 pounds are being caught north and south of the harbor. Bass are taking live squid. Some have been caught near Martin’s Beach and south of the Ritz-Carlton but bite seems to have moved above Montara. Most are in 30 to 60 feet of water. A 70 pounder was caught in 90 feet of water. There’s a 12-foot great white shark roaming the area. Not a good spot for kayakers

Striper bite has been very good. Keith Fraser, owner of Loch Lomond Marina, Tuesday was drifting shiners through the Brothers and stripers to 8 pounds were hitting almost every cast. The Brickyard also held a lot of bass in the 2 to 3 pound range. Halibut fishing has picked up at Angel Island. Halibut to 20 pounds are falling to live bait drifting. California City gave up a 32 pounder earlier in the week. Same boat also had 25 pounder. Always worth a try. Loch Lomond Marina (415) 456-0321

Anglers are going right off the head to catch salmon in 80 feet of water. The close to shore bite has been going on since the weekends. Sea lions are an issue.
