Bodega Bay (salt water open) Salmon bite was improving before wind kicked in. New Sea Angler has been pulling crab pots in after salmon fishing when able. (707) 875-3344
Capitola (salt water open) Rock cod fishing is very good. Action is solid outside the kelp beds. An 18 pound ling was caught last week. Perch and jacksmelt are plentiful off the pier. No stripers, no white sea bass, no halibut. (831) 462-2208
Crescent City (salt water open) Crab quality remains less than stellar. Weather has kept boats in the harbor. (707) 464-1650
Emeryville (salt water open) Salmon scores are excellent when boats can get out. Action was good over the weekend and through Monday. (510) 654-6040
Eureka (salt water open) Boats are getting salmon just north of Trinidad. Six-pack boats get limits when they can get on the water.
Fort Bragg (salt water open) Next salmon trips are planned for the weekend if weather allows. (707) 964-3000
Monterey (salt water open) Party boats get at least a ling cod per person and near limits to limits of rock cod on both local trips and trips to Point Sur.
Pacifica (salt water open) There is some striper action at night, but it’s a here-and-there thing. There are some kingfish being caught from the pier. Crab continue to be caught but a lot are females with soft shells. (650) 355-8303, (650) 359-9790
Pillar Point (salt water open) Last salmon trips were Monday when the Queen of Hearts, New Capt. Pete and the Huli Cat all achieved limits.
San Francisco Bay (salt water open) Halibut bite is slow. Some are caught late in the afternoon on the outgoing tide near Brisbane. Sharks and rays are caught from the pier. (650) 589-3474; (510) 703-4148
San Luis Obispo (salt water open) Patriot has been getting quality reds and full limits of cod on 3/4 day trips.
San Pablo Bay (salt water open) Minus tides are done so halibut and bass anglers can get after it. Wind slowed down Wednesday and weather should be fine for the weekend. (415) 456-0321
San Simeon/Morro Bay (salt water open) Party boats from Virg's get limits of cod and a handful of lings on 3/4-day trips

Sausalito (salt water open) Hog Heaven, Outer Limits and New Rayann have been scoring well on trips outside the Gate. Early salmon limits were common before wind kicked up. No one has been out since Monday.
Shelter Cove (salt water open) Seahawk Sport Fishing reports very good salmon fishing with kings ranging 12 to 25 pounds. Rock cod action has slowed down due to the giant south swell and the wind. When weather improves anglers will be able to access the northern fishing grounds.
Suisun Bay (salt water open) Staying out of the wind has been the challenge. Best spot to fish with cover has been Montezuma Slough where there has been decent sturgeon fishing. Martinez Bait & Tackle (925) 229-9420
Trinidad (salt water open) Anglers are going right off the head to catch salmon in 80 feet of water. The close to shore bite has been going on since the weekends. Sea lions are an issue.
